Mike Huckabee and “The Party Of Know” vs. “The Party Of No”
But for those of us who are Republican, let me say that one of the really, criticisms, is that we have become the “party of no“, N-O, “the party of no“. You know what I’d like to say to those critics who say that, we are the “party of no“, but not N-O. We are the ” party of know” – K-NO-W. (Applause.) We’re the “party of know“. And I’ll tell you what we know. (Applause.)
-We know that you can’t spend what you don’t have and you cannot borrow what you can’t afford to pay back.
-We know that and Congress doesn’t. (Applause.) We know. (Applause.)
-We know that radical Islam is a threat, not just to our livelihood, but to our very next breath. And that we cannot continue to hide behind – (applause) – for political correctness, and act as if jihadism is not a serious threat to our liberty.
-We know that government shouldn’t pick the winners and losers in the marketplace and start hiring CEOs and firing them and picking some companies to succeed and some to fail.
-We know that’s a recipe for disaster in a free marketplace.
-We know that a government’s job is to referee the game, not play the game. (Applause.)
-We know that we cannot penalize productivity and subsidize reckless irresponsibility and have a decent marketplace, which is exactly what our government has been doing. Penalizing the people who are producing and subsidizing the people who have made foolish and reckless decisions. We know better.
-We know that mothers and fathers will always raise better kids than governments will.
-We know that life matters.
-We know that every life is important before God and to each other.
-We know that marriage matters. (Applause.)
-We know that marriage hasn’t changed, that it still means what it means. And in 31 states in which that’s been on the ballot, the people agree with us. And I’ll tell you something else we know.
-We know that on election day, America has an opportunity to change this great republic and to get us back on track where we live within our means, and we exercise some old-fashioned sanity and some old-fashioned sense of what’s right and what’s wrong. It’s right to go vote and it’s right to make America proud again and we know that. God bless you. Thank you very, very much. (Applause.
